SKAL International – Macau Hosts Fireworks Dinner at the Official Residence of the Consul General of Portugal

Macau, 27 September 2016 – The Skål International – Macau dinner was held at the Official Residence of the Consul General of Portugal on 24 September, attended by more than 50 Skalleagues and key influencers from the Macau and Hong Kong tourism and travel industry.

Highlights of the Portuguese-themed dinner included a backdrop of dazzling fireworks from the annual Macao International Fireworks Display Contest and overlooking views of the picturesque Nam Van Lake, Macau Tower and Taipa Island. Moreover, this event was graced by the honourable Consul General of Portugal in Hong Kong and Macau, Vitor Sereno, and his wife as well as representatives of the board members from Skal International – Hong Kong.

The evening started with a welcome speech by the President of Skål International – Macau, Engr João Manuel Costa Antunes, followed by a speech by the Consul General of Portugal in Hong Kong and Macau, Vitor Sereno, and the presentation of the Skal flag as a token of appreciation by President of Skal International – Macau to expressed the heartfelt thanks for the generous support.

The well-received dinner featured a feast of gourmet delicacies prepared by the culinary team of Grand Lapa, Macau, as well as a selection of premium Portuguese wines supplied by Vinomac.

“With more than 400 clubs around the world, Skål offers great opportunities in support of a responsible tourism industry. Being the President of the Macau Club, I will strive to bring in more Skalleagues from other cities to experience Macau and work together to achieve our vision through leadership, professionalism and friendship across the regions.” 

About Skål International – Macau

Skål International Macau was one of the first organizations of its kind in Asia. It is a multi-national, non-political, non-racial and non-sectarian club. It has over 50 members from the community. Regular monthly luncheon functions are held, usually on the second Tuesday of the month, in different member hotels, restaurants or selected venues. Guests are welcome and invited by Skål members. Special events, including out-of-the-country visits, are also arranged annually.
